City College of San Francisco Linebacker Fred Thompkins announced Wednesday that he has decommitted from Washington State.
Originally WSU’s 14th commitment in the 2021 recruiting class, Thompkins announced via Twitter, that he is opening up his recruitment.
CCSF’s season was postponed until Spring 2021. Thompkins’ plan was to graduate the JC in December and enroll at WSU in January, giving him three years of eligibility.
A three-star recruit out of Paso Robles, California, Fred Thompkins has 12 other offers to his name. He was considered the fifth-best JC inside linebacker in the nation. It is unsure at the moment where he will eventually end up.
Thompkins was recruited from CCSF, the same Junior College that a large group of WSU players went to before coming to Pullman. That list includes former players like QB Anthony Gordon, Safety Robert Taylor, WR Easop Winston, and even Head Coach (QB at CCSF) Nick Rolovich.
In his tweet, he thanked the coaching staff, as well as everyone that has supported him on his journey in playing at the Division 1 level. He also ended the message with a #TrustTheProcess.
